WE ARE

"One Church with congregations meeting in different locations"

WE ARE

an autonomous Christian Church affiliated with

Australian Christian Churches

WE BELIEVE

We are saved by God's grace through an active faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, the Risen Lord, Our Saviour.

That the Church is now the appointed Body of Christ here on Earth.

That each member is called to be an active participant in the ministry of the Church.

WE AGREE

To protect the unity of our Church by acting in love towards others,

by refusing to gossip, and by supporting the leadership.

To share in the responsibility of our Church by praying for its growth,

by inviting the unchurched and warmly welcoming those who visit.

To share in the ministry of our Church by committing to discipleship,

serving in ministry as we are able, and nurturing a generous heart.

To support the witness of our Church by living a godly life,

by attending faithfully, and by giving regularly.

WE HAVE A VISION

To build and strengthen the local Church,

empowering God’s people to serve and impact our communities for Christ,

"Caring across the Generations; Building for the Future’

Ephesians 4:11-13

OUR MISSION

To introduce as many as we can, both in our communities and afar,

to the reality of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Matthew 28:19-20

OUR FAITH

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.

He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Corinthians 14:14

Mankind is made in the image of God; to be like Him in character, the supreme object of God’s creation.

Although mankind has tremendous potential for God, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin".

This attitude separates us from God, and we can only be reconciled to Him through an active faith in Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2

We are created eternal beings to exist forever. We will either exist eternally

separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.

The place of eternal dying and separation from God is called Hell.

The place of eternal life and union with God is called Heaven.

John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 21:27

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with God the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life

and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all through His crucifixion and death on the Cross at Calvary.

After three days, He arose from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death.

He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15;

1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13

No-one knows when Jesus Christ will return, only God the Father.

Mark 13:32; Acts 1:7-8

"For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever."

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

OUR WORSHIP

The Bible is God's Word of Truth and helps us to know how to live and worship according to His Will

John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:14-16

The Bible instructs us to

"Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only"   Matthew 4:10

To sing praises to God   Hebrews 13:15

To clap our hands in praise   Psalm 47:1

To lift our hands in prayer and worship   Psalm 63:4

And even encourages us to dance   Psalm 149:3

WHY DO WE BRING TITHES AND OFFERINGS ?

The Bible teaches us to bring the Lord's Tithe.  "Tithe" means one tenth of our increase.

Psalm 24; Genesis 14:20; Genesis 28:22; Leviticus 27;30-32;

Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23

Offerings are what is given above the Tithe.

WHY DO WE SHARE COMMUNION ?

Jesus told us to remember Him often in the sharing of the Bread and the Cup.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

WHY DO WE BAPTISE IN WATER ?

Jesus told us to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

Matthew 28:19

JESUS TOLD US ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

He told the disciples that He would soon be going away to heaven to be with the Father, but the Father would be sending the Holy Spirit to help them here on earth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, and He brings new life to our spirit and causes a living connection between us and God. This is what Jesus meant when He used the term ‘born again’

John 14:26, John 3:3-7

THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US TO LIVE THE LIFE WE WERE CREATED FOR

God’s Spirit gives us a strength beyond our natural

comprehension to live life as God intends

Acts 2:38-39, Acts 19:2-6, 1 Corinthians 12, Acts 1:8

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE FALL DOWN WHEN PRAYED FOR ?

When the presence of the Holy Spirit is strong, people sometimes fall to the ground. This experience is called "falling under the power of the Spirit". People who fall are never unconscious, but surrendered to the Holy Spirit as He moves powerfully within them. This experience usually lasts for a minute or two but can sometimes be quite prolonged.

Acts 9:4, John 18:6, Revelation 1:17
