OPERATION
CHRISTMAS CHILD - SHOE BOX APPEAL
We
will once again support and be part of this year's Operation Christmas Child
Shoe Box Appeal. Last year we put together some 30 boxes!! This is
an amazing project of Samaritan's Purse, and you are encouraged to grab a shoe
box (as per size specified in brochure available at the Church - sorry, all
provided boxes are gone already!) and get it filled with all sorts of
goodies. Remember, there are some restrictions as to what goes in, so
ensure that what you are putting in are eligible. For more info on
Operation Christmas Child, including stories, drop off points and information on
donating online, visit the Samaritan's Purse website at www.samaritanspurse.org.au.
Filled Shoe Boxes are to be brought to the Church before Sunday, 14th
September.

PRIORITY
NIGHT WOMEN'S MEETING - TUESDAY 22 JULY
Our
Priority Night Women's Event, held Tuesday, 22nd July, was one of the best
ever. Women from all over gathered with us to enjoy a night full of
worship, wonderment and wisdom, as we were encouraged by our Guest Speaker, Lea
Russell to find the shoes that God has for us that are the perfect fit and are
uniquely ours. It was a fantastic message and was followed up by some
fantastic desserts. YUMMY!! Keep in touch with Wellspring Women by
visiting the Women's Page for their weekly schedule.
VERTICAL
ACTION NIGHT - FRIDAY 4 JULY
Friday,
4th June was definitely 'Action-packed'! About 50 youth and adults enjoyed
watching photos and footage of our local surfers and skaters which had been
captured over the last couple of months by Keiko & Terry Dolling.
Check out the Gallery and Youth
pages for more photos from the night. A compilation of the
footage and photos is available on DVD & CD (digital files for mp3 or ipod) for
$5. Contact the
Church if you would like to purchase one.
RED
FACES - FRIDAY 27 JUNE
Another
fantastic night was had by all who attended and participated in our recent Red
Faces Night held on Friday, 27th June. Congratulations to everyone who
performed on the Night. Once again, the standard was high, with a variety
of acts, including joke telling, a skipping routine, skits, singing and dancing
including special guest appearance from Sharpay & Ryan from High School
Musical who Bop bop bopped to the Top! A big thanks to Ps Heidi and team
for organising the night. Our next event will be held in September.
Keep posted for more details in the near future. More Pics on Gallery
page.
KIDS
COOKING NIGHT - FRIDAY 20 JUNE
Kids
of all ages gathered in the name of Cooking!! With aprons donned and
mouths watering, the kids enjoyed putting their culinary skills to the test as
they moved from table to table, recipe to recipe. There was biscuit
making, smoothies, apple pies, pizzas, rice bubble bars to choose from, with
most of the children getting to make all of the above (and eating all of the
above!!). By the end of the night, everyone had bellies full to the brim
(hopefully none were overflowing, if you know what I mean). Thanks to Josy
and her team for doing an excellent job in preparation and on the night, and
thanks to all who attended. You made the night a big success!
FAMILY
FUN DAY - SUNDAY 30 MARCH
Our Annual Family Fun Day,
was held on Sunday, 30th March, 2008 at Wherrett Park, Maclean. With the
day producing beautiful weather, many gathered to enjoy lunch together before
warming up to 'hit the track'. Both young and old participated in running
races, egg 'n' spoon races, sack races, tug-of-war, captain ball, tunnel ball,
'Giant' Soccer and a quick game of touch football. The afternoon was
filled with much laughter as many happy memories were made. Thanks to Ps
Heidi and her team for all their organisation and hard work.
